Murphy, NC – Culinary Services Group has been granted a food service contract for the newly built Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing. CSG currently provides food service for Century Care Management, Inc’s eight other communities across North Carolina. The Murphy community represents an extension of a strong partnership between Culinary Services Group and Century Care dating back to 2010.

“The secret to our long-term partnership with Century Care is that they treat our dining services team like their own!”

– John Ramey, Chief Operating Officer, Culinary Services Group

The new Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing community offers luxurious touches throughout the building making it a community of choice for skilled nursing in the area. Dining amenities include two private dining rooms that families will be able to reserve for special occasions, a restorative dining room for patients needing extra help during meals and Duncan’s Tavern, an open concept, casual dining space that features four electric fireplaces, a bar, game table and patio access.

Due to COVID-related mandates, the community’s dining areas and communal spaces will be closed or restricted for now. Culinary Services Group is planning on offering in-room meal service. Meals will be served in the same style as dining room service and brought to residents’ rooms using an insulated food cart. The company emphasizes fresh, locally sourced menus and seasonal favorites. Menus are tailored to each community and adjustments are made for regional preferences based on resident feedback.

Culinary Services Group focuses on a food-first approach to nutrition. To support this, the company is also launching a new menu building software at the Murphy community that will track both macro and micronutrients in its cycle menus ensuring optimal nutrition for residents. Menus can be tailored to support the intake of certain vitamins and minerals depending on the community’s health concerns and nutritional needs. By providing ideal nutrition through menu items, Culinary Services Group hopes to reduce the need for costly supplements throughout the communities it serves.

Culinary Services Group is a proud partner of Century Care Management, Inc and is glad to continue their partnership through the opening of the Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing community. The company hopes that providing food service to a community so close to both the Tennessee and Georgia borders will allow them to expand their reach as a healthcare food service provider in those states as well.
