April is National Stress Awareness Month. Everyone experiences stress from time to time and it’s important to find ways to reduce or relieve your stress. Experts agree that increasing your physical activity, surrounding yourself with positive people, and eating healthy are all good ways to cope with everyday stress.

Chocolate lovers may indulge in their favorite chocolate treat when they’re feeling stressed out and they may be on to something. Dark chocolate has been found to help relieve stress. Dark chocolate affects our body’s release of cortisol, our body’s primary stress hormone. So, the next time you feel stress creeping up on you why not indulge in a dark chocolate treat like this rich, creamy Chocolate Mousse?

 

 

Ingredients

8 Ounces Dark Chocolate
3 Eggs
1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream

 

Steps

  1. Melt the chocolate in a stainless-steel bowl, in a hot water bath, over medium heat.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the whipped cream to stiff peaks.
  3. Mix eggs and sugar in a separate, small bowl.
  4. Temper ¼ of the chocolate, when melted into the egg mixture.
  5. Add 1 more of the mixture to fully temper.
  6. Add the tempered egg and chocolate mixture to the chocolate mixture and set aside.
  7. Add 1/3 of the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream and fold.
  8. Add additional 1/3 and fold, then the final 1/3 and fold.
  9. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours and serve cold.
