It’s officially National Wellness Month, which means it’s time to focus on your health! Whether it’s drinking more water, exercising, getting outside, practicing meditation, stretching, or just slowing down, it’s important to incorporate wellness into your life each day.

It’s also important to know the health benefits of our favorite everyday foods. Plain Greek yogurt is a nutrient-packed food that has many health benefits. It’s a fantastic source of protein, calcium, vitamin B-12, and potassium. Greek yogurt is also packed with probiotics. Probiotics are healthy bacteria that can help boost your immune system and decrease stomach issues.

Greek-Inspired Yogurt Dip

Ingredients

1 Fresh Cucumber
2 Garlic Cloves
2 Tbsp Fresh Chopped Mint
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 1/2 Cup Fat-Free Plain Greek Yogurt
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1 Fresh Lemon

Steps

  1. Wash the cucumber. Split lengthwise and remove seeds. Using a box grater, shred the cucumber on the large grate side. Using your hands, squeeze the cucumber, draining as much liquid as possible. Set drained shredded cucumber in a medium bowl.
  2. Add yogurt, oil, mint, and minced garlic to bowl. Stir well (dill can be substituted for mint if desired).
  3. Squeeze half of the lemon into the bowl and add salt. Stir to combine and taste. Allow the dip to chill, covered, in the refrigerator at least 2 hours before serving or overnight. Before serving, stir well and taste – adjust flavor with remaining half lemon (juiced) and salt if needed.
  4. Serve with grilled meats and vegetables, pita chips, raw vegetables, and on turkey or chicken burgers.
