The Culinary Services Group partnership will provide state-of-the-art meal planning technology and operating processes.

Kittrell, NC – Kittrell Job Corps Center has partnered with food service management company Culinary Services Group to operate its dining services program. Kittrell Job Corps believes the shift to outsourced dining will provide them with access to technology, training, and support that will provide a solid foundation for campus growth. The job corps campus can serve 300 on-campus residential students and 50 non-residential students. The campus, which operates a culinary arts training program for students, will benefit from a customized culinary arts vocational training program developed in partnership with Culinary Services Group specifically for the campus as well as the company’s own Emerging Leaders Program.

“The Kittrell Job Corps Center had always handled dining services in-house. However, we knew if we could find a business partner who aligned with our values and mission of caring for and mentoring our students, we could create an elevated dining experience. With Culinary Services Group, we have found our trusted partner.” – Norman Turner, Campus Director

Culinary Services Group has partnered with several organizations to offer vocational training that prepares students for successful roles in the food service industry. Both companies are aligned in their vision to provide students not only with high-quality meals but also hands-on training and access to resources that will prepare them for career success. Student-led menus will focus on feedback from the students on meals they’d like to see and create a menu customized to the campus and student preferences. All meals will rely heavily on from-scratch cooking and locally sourced ingredients and menus will be revised seasonally. Meals will be served cafeteria style and students and staff will focus on providing exceptional customer service skills as part of their training process.

“From the moment we met with the Kittrell Job Corps team, we immediately felt and saw a culture of caring that emphasizes a commitment to the growth and education of the students in their care. This aligned perfectly with Culinary Services Group’s mission to improve the lives of those we serve” – Scott Alme, Regional Vice President of Business Development

Culinary Services Group believes a successful partnership with Kittrell Job Corps will further its mission to improve the lives of those it serves. They are excited about the opportunity to provide training and leadership to the next generation of culinarians and food service professionals. The company hopes that a successful partnership here will lead to more collaborations with job corps campuses or similar vocational programs, a branch of the business they are eager to grow. They are passionate about developing the skill sets of others and helping them achieve success. Contact Culinary Services Group for more information on their dining and vocational programs.
